Hi, I’m Maura — the hands and heart behind Live Makai.

Long before I ever held a sunrise shell, I found myself drawn to places where nature feels most loud and alive. Whether it is taking in the still air of the mountains or the shoreline at low tide, I have always felt inspired spiritually, mentally, and physically by nature. These landscapes have shaped everything I am and make: warm, real, and full of soul.

Live Makai means “to live toward the sea,” but it’s also the way I try to move through life: slowly, intentionally, and in rhythm.

I’m starting my brand with the pieces that mean the most to me. I am very excited to launch the gemstone necklaces and bracelets, and the shell necklaces that remind me of the ocean and the places where I feel most myself. These are the first designs I ever created for fun, the ones that made me fall in love with jewelry in the first place. Launching with them feels right, like I’m sharing a little piece of my story and all the beauty, color, and calm that inspires me every day.

My style and my life, sit somewhere between saltwater and saddle dust. It’s about living freely, chasing light, and finding beauty in imperfection.
Every shell and stone I use is one-of-a-kind, just like the person who wears it. Each piece is crafted slowly by hand, and always with aloha. It is inspired by my best friend Missy and my sisters… (etc..idk)
